This is it, the last part of digital photography. I have learned a lot from this class, and I feel that I have grown a lot as a photographer. I now know about the camera itself, and how it works to capture a picture. I now know about the types of cameras, and pros and cons between them. I learned about photo composition, and the 11 elements of composing a picture. I learned about the exposure triangle, and the three components that make up exposure. I learned about aperture, the measure of the size of the opening of the camera lens, and how aperture controls depth of field. I learned about the shutter speed and how it displays motion and stillness. Finally, I learned about the ISO, and the way it can remove or show Digital Noise, and how it can be used to change the exposure. Coming into this class, I knew very little about photography and the camera and photo composition. Before this class, I was taking only snapshots, but now I know how to truly take pictures, and I can consider myself a photographer. Beyond photography, I also gained valuable experience in photoshop, a skill which I have wanted to learn for a while, but have never had the opportunity. These are some pictures from my early stages as a photographer Here is some of my favorite photoshop work. Finally, these are some pictures from the more recent, more developed stages of my photography.
Mr. Bush, thanks for a great trimester, I really appreciated your humor and positivity every day, and your eagerness to help. I learned a lot about photography and photoshop, and a lot of problem solving skills. Thanks again! Josh Winslow

This week I shot Black and White photos, using some new photos, and some photos from previous photoshoots that I thought lended themselves well to the black and white theme. f/13, 1/400, ISO 400
With these pictures I first changed the colors to black and white, then I adjusted all of the brightness and other stuff to highlight the contrast of the pictures This week I worked in photoshop and created a flat landscape art piece, then used layer masking to create the following images.
Link for tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nl-rEEA9WQw This week I worked with different styles of portraits and portrait lighting. I learned about window lighting and three-point lighting, then used the techniques I learned to compose the pictures displayed below. Pictured is Valentina Urrea.
This weekend I shot macro photos in between thunderstorms at Wooley Park, trying to take advantage of the artfully placed raindrops.
This week, I learned how to use photoshop to create panoramas. Using photomerge, I was able to stitch multiple pictures together, and the results were cool.
This weekend I chose to go out to shoot nature. I really enjoyed the fall colors, but as I went out to shoot, the clouds began to cover the sun, but as I continued shooting, the sun came out and lit up the greens and reds in the photos. I went to Lillie Park to shoot, and saw lots of crazy stuff, including a proposal! Overall I really enjoyed the autumn nature. f/16, 1/640, ISO 800
I adjusted the colors and toned down the exposure This week we worked with Photoshop compositing, and I chose to put Saline High School into the world of Blue's Clues.
This week I chose to focus on sports. On Thursday evening I went to the Saline Junior Varsity and Varsity soccer games to shoot. The JV boys played very well, defeating Dexter 2-0 to close out a successful season. The Varsity team did not fare as well as the JV team, falling 2-0 to an undefeated Dexter team. During this assignment I grappled with my camera's exposure, trying to use a fast shutter speed while maintaining enough light entering the camera. I really enjoyed being able to shoot such an exciting evening of soccer Clayton Jarvey celebrating the final goal of the JV team's season
f/5.6, 1/800, ISO 1600 I cropped this photo a bit, and did some retouching to bring out the colors more This week my client and I had a photoshoot planned for Sunday afternoon, but we had to postpone to Sunday evening due to the cloudy day. I thought the photos turned out quite well, and the light really seemed to accentuate the features of my client. My client seemed to be getting restless towards the end of our appointment, but we were able to finish with some nice pictures. Ferris B. Winslow
