This week I chose to take Still Life pictures of some of my Chacos. I used a gray bed sheet as a backdrop, though part of me wishes I had used a more natural background for these outdoorsy shoes. f/4.0, 1/40 ISO, 160
I adjusted the color on this photo as I felt it was too warm. I also adjusted the brightness a bit, and cropped it.

This week we worked with the basics of photoshop, and learned how to edit, colorize, and adjust a photo. I learned this by creating an Andy Warhol inspired "Pop Art" image.
More Exposure Triangle practice, this time with shutter speed.; enjoy these pics of my brother on his new scooter.
This assignment was to display and learn about the different elements of photo composition, specifically the Rule of Thirds, Pattern, Symmetry, Texture, Depth of field, Lines, Framing, Perspective, Space, Balance, and Color. This assignment taught me the fundamentals of composition, and helped me to move from a person who enjoys taking snapshots to a photographer who enjoys taking well thought out photos. I learned many new things from this, and I enjoyed gathering the information to then apply it to the real world.
I'm Josh Winslow, Welcome to my blog!
I live in Saline, Michigan, and am a big fan of the natural world. I'm in my senior year in high school, and I am always busy. I am always busy as the bass drum section leader in the marching band, the president of the Saline National Honors Society, a pole vaulter on the track team, and many more. I have worked many jobs, and I currently work as an administrative assistant at The More Group in Dexter, Michigan. I have little to no experience as a photographer, and I needed a technology credit to graduate, so I chose Digital Photography 1. I am looking forward to a great time! |
